Let's talk planning.

Kelly Purkey November Shop Update

This month's shop update is by far my favorite that I've seen from Kelly Purkey.

You Rock | Clearly Kelly

If you follow me on YouTube or Instagram, you know I've started yet another side project. I've begun documenting the most exciting time of my early teen years - my Jonas Brothers phase. I'm currently putting together a 6x8 mini album using photos from concerts I've gone to and ticket stubs. I'm really loving this project. It really kicks the nostalgia into high gear and I am always down with that.

I've used a combination of supplies from various manufacturers. The majority of my cards are from various Studio Calico kits. The stamp set I used is from Kelly Purkey's Clearly Kelly line and it's called 100% Me and it's one of my favorite stamp sets. It's sooo versatile and simple.

I've also started stamping on wood! I'm truly baffled that it's taken me this long to think about doing it seeing as though stamping and wood veneer are two of my favorite things to add to my pages. I use Staz On ink and it worked great.

Kelly Purkey October Shop Update!

Very excited to a be a part of Kelly Purkey's design team so I'm dusting off this blog to share some projects I've made with her October shop update!

Today I'm sharing a page featuring some stamping on photos!

Lately, I've been absolutely obsessed with stamping on photos. I think it adds such a nice touch to photos and it also makes it look like you tried a lot harder than you did. Which is always good.

You'll need an ink that doesn't smear on photos. This may vary depending on what kind of ink + photo paper combo you use. I use Canon photo paper and Staz On ink. No smears. This may take some trial and error if you're mixing other supplies, so just be patient.

It's also a quick way to add some embellishing without having to actually embellish. We're all about shortcuts here, and stamping on photos does the trick. I've been using Kellie's Outline It alphabet like a madman. It's seriously made it's way onto most of my pages since I've gotten it. It's that good.

Stamping on photos can be kind of tricky at first. Make sure you're inked up really well and when you make your impression, make sure you don't move your stamp once you're on there. You'll definitely smear that way. So make sure you commit!

And then there's some regular stamping. I'm really loving stamping on labels, as well. It just adds a nice touch.

So yeah - thanks for checking out my post. Make sure to check out the rest of the blog hop and get some great NSD inspiration and a chance at some fantastic stamps. My challenge for you is to implement one of the techniques in the blog hop! Have fun!

Project Life Layout: We R Memory Keepers "Chalkboard"

I decided to get back onto this blogging thing. So let's get started.

I made this layout for my 2015 PL. I used some WRMK and some various Studio Calico bits here and there. You can hear more about how this layout came together in the process video I posted up on YouTube - it's embedded at the bottom of this post. I'm officially obsessed with sloppy stamping on photos. I think it gives the page some really nice detail without trying too hard. And not trying too hard is one of my favorite things.

Aaand here's the video! Enjoy :)

Updates + Project Life Process Videos

Long time no blog... sorry haha. As the new year began, I decided to be more intentional with my blogging. I've been neglecting this little site as of late, mostly because I've had no idea what to blog about. So, I thought I'd share some updates!

1. I'm part of my first Design Team for Laurel Lane Designs by the wonderful Laura. Check out her really pretty designs. Spoiler alert: lots of black and white and I love it.

2. I've decided to start filming process videos! I've tried making blog posts on layouts, but I always find myself getting distracted when describing what I did and how I did it. I've always loved editing videos - this hobby dates back to middle school - so I thought process videos would be a great way to share my work while keeping it fun for me. You can check those out at my youtube channel.

And that's about it! I'll leave you with my newest video. I'm trying to get them out once a week so that there's a consistent stream of content for whoever is interested!
